Oops, a little late with Monday’s post! I’m sure you’ll understand. Life with two little ones can get away from you sometimes!
Here is one of the activities we have planned for tomorrow:
In a large bowl, place about a cup of water, 3 tablespoons of dish washing soap, and a few drops of food coloring. Place a straw in the solution and have your child blow to make bubbles.
When the bubbles are a little above the top of the bowl, take a piece of paper and place it over the top of the bowl to make bubble marks.
You can do different colors in other bowls and add to the same paper.
Make sure your child understands the difference between sucking and blowing before you try this with her.
You could use this as an opportunity to discuss what colors are produced by mixing different colors together. You could also use the dried products as wrapping paper and an chance to discuss giving. Try instructing your child to do “big blows” and “small blows.” Practicing blowing in this “pursed lips” manner can even help your child in oral motor skills.
