Print your child’s name in large letters across a piece of paper, using a capital letter for the first letter only. Let your child watch as you do it, and talk to them about where you’re putting your pen and what letter you’re writing. Then have your child use a red crayon to trace each letter, then an orange crayon, then yellow, and so on until you use all of your colors. Using all the colors helps your child get in extra practice without making it redundant, and also makes it look more fun! Praise your child for getting close to the lines even if their attempts are illegible. Say the names of the letters as your child traces them.
